Beyond Singing | Finding Where I Belong

With the way I set it up previously, this is how I described it:

This is a personal space where I will share feelings that resulted—and are resulting—in outcomes that leave imprints on my body and soul.

Okay. So, there's that.

Since then, I've arrived at a place where I've discovered a lot more about myself. Either they were dreams from a long time ago (from a galaxy far, far away...), or something that wasn't clear to me back then but is now crystal clear. Whatever it is, I now feel that my purpose is clearer than ever.

Let me back up a minute here so you'll have the full picture of what's going on.

At this point in my life, I've done many things. People often tell me that I'm good at everything I do. That hasn't really helped me because being good at everything has left me in a void. I don't belong anywhere, and I'm without any support because I have yet to find someone like me—or someone who understands.

Throughout my life, I thought being "me" was not a good thing. It made me the one with flaws, an unusual case that no one knew where to place.

This hit me hard, especially from 2021 to 2024, when I paid an exorbitantly high fee for business coaching, hoping it would help me identify who I was and find a place where I belonged.

Before that, I wrote and published a book (From Gaprow To Keemao And Recipes In Between) during COVID-19 after my singing and voice-teaching career came to a halt. I turned all my attention to teaching non-Thai people how to "cook like a Thai."

As with everything I do, I focused on my work and gave it my all. This also included a lot of time and money—more than I really had to begin with.

I knew in my heart that I was doing everything right and that it would pay off one day. But that day hadn’t come yet, and at that point I needed to turn my attention to something more important: bringing in more money.

I finally gave in—not because I gave up, but because the financial strain on my family had become too much to ignore.

I thought about the good and the bad of everything I knew and had experienced. As I said before, I've done just about everything under the sun!

I've been a singer, a teacher, a business leader, and a salesperson (a darn good one, too!). What else... what else?

I dabbled in photographic art, but nah... I don't want to pick that up again. Opening the door to the people who would appreciate my art would be tricky.

As I was wondering what I could possibly do, it dawned on me.

I am a great problem solver. I can solve a problem and show people how to solve it. It comes naturally to me. Perhaps this is what makes me a good teacher?

Then I stumbled upon a training program for interpreters.

First, I laughed because my main goal at the time was simply to make more money. Then again, this was a training program, and they actually paid you while you learned. Sure, why not?

Back then, I hadn't yet realized that becoming an interpreter was a childhood dream—well, one of many that would follow. I opened the application page and started filling in my information.

As soon as I finished, chills ran through my body.

What about my Cook Like A Thai company?

What about The Voice Reset, fixing singers' vocal issues?

They are my life. I can't just abandon them!

Fast forward to today.

I've been trained as a Thai interpreter and have been working both for a company, doing online interpreting, and on-site around Las Vegas as an independent interpreter.

I love what I do, and I'm proud of it, too.

Finally, I feel I belong.

A recent discovery revealed that being an interpreter was actually my very first childhood dream. I'm still surprised even now.

Oh my goodness! How could that be?

And I'd forgotten it for almost sixty years?

That is... AWESOME!

The fact that the memory resurfaced kind of blew my mind.

I love helping people. And especially with my independent work through Nevada Thai Interpreting, I have a little more freedom to help where I can.

So yes, surprisingly, I've come to realize that this is what I was meant to do.

It's not that I've put both The Voice Reset and Cook Like A Thai on the back burner.

They are all in line with each other.

They represent how I use my voice to help—to connect and to console.

I just found my calling.

Not cooking.

Not singing.

Not interpreting alone.

All of them.

They make me whole.

For those of you who've been struggling to find your own place to stand in this big, big world, don't feel discouraged.

You are doing it.

It's only a matter of time, and soon you'll know that you've always rightfully belonged.

Lots of love,

Pradichaya
